All our anaesthetists are hospital doctors at consultant level who hold the Fellowship of the Royal College of Anaesthetists, undergo annual appraisal and are revalidated by the General Medical Council.

All hold professional indemnity insurance and practice the latest evidence based techniques to provide you with the safest and most comfortable anaesthetic for your procedure.

Dorchester anaesthetists provide consultants to both the BMI Winterbourne and Harbour Hospital and also The Nuffield hospital in Bournemouth for all patients requiring anaesthetic services on each particular day. As such, you will not be able to choose your anaesthetist, but all of our anaesthetists are highly skilled and cover all surgical specialities to an exceptionally high standard.

Our Business Manager, where possible, will be in touch with you prior to your procedure.

We take pride in our work and in looking after you; maintaining a professional, considerate and accredited service.

I have been a consultant anaesthetist for over 10 years. In addition to performing all General Anaesthesia, I have a special interest in Regional Anaesthesia. This means many procedures can be performed comfortably without having a general anaesthetic. A good example is a having your Hip or Knee replacement under a Spinal anaesthetic (also known as an Epidural). It also means your postoperative pain control will be of the highest quality whether you choose to be have a general anaesthetic or not. I also provide total intravenous general anaesthesia which can improve your postoperative recovery. Whatever type of anaesthetic you choose I will ensure you are comfortable and safe throughout your operation.
